Membership

The Middlesex Genealogical Society is for all those interested in family history research. Although much of MGS is available to everyone, not just Members, membership is encouraged to support the MGS activities.

Why MGS?. The activities of MGS are:

  1. Association with people who share your interest in family research.
  2. Participation in five program Meetings each year, including Zoom meetings, which are for Members only
  3. Four Newsletters each year e-mailed to Members and anyone on our Mailing list .
  4. Access for Members to vital records at town and city record offices in Connecticut. The Society is registered with the State of Connecticut, thereby giving Members accaess.
  5. A free Member Page on this website to display information about your family.
  6. Participation in the MGS Y-DNA project at Family Tree DNA, including help in understanding and choosing Y-DNA tests.
  7. An opportunity to participate in running a vibrant organization and help others research their family history.

Membership Dues. Membership is on a calendar-year basis.

Individual membership$25 a year ($45 for two years)
Family membership$30 a year ($55 for two years)

New Members. If you are a new member, fill out our Application for Membershipand bring it in or mail it in with your dues. Make your check payable to Middlesex Genealogical Society. Our mailing address is Post Office Box 9, Darien, CT 06820.

Existing Members. Existing members do not need to fill out a membership application and can either mail a check to the address above, or use one of the payment options below.

Additional Contributions. Additional Contributions are most welcome. We fund our presentation programs and other activities through Additional Contributions as well as dues. Please consider an Additional Contribution to help us. Additional Contributions may be made at any time. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, so any Additional Contributions may be tax deductible and may be matched by your employer.
